How do I upgrade/downgrade my web hosting account?

Sometimes you may wish to upgrade or downgrade your web hosting account, or other services you have via us. Common reasons include outgrowing a current service, requiring one with more performance, or as a result of scaling down businesses not requiring an as powerful service as before. Changing an existing plan like this is no problem, and here we describe both kinds of changes.

Upgrade

If you’re happy with a service you have today and only need more disk space, you can upgrade your account to a Large version of the same account type. If you need even more space, you can go for Large x2, x3 etc. Each Large upgrade will give you an additional 100 GB disk space for the account.

To upgrade your web hosting account, begin by logging on to you client area account.

When you order an upgrade, you will be billed for the difference between what you’ve already paid and what the upgraded service will cost for the remainder of the period.

Once you’ve logged in, follow these steps to order an upgrade:

  1. Click Shared Hosting under Services in the menu to the left.
  2. Click on the icon under Upgrade for the web hosting account you want to upgrade.

If you wish to upgrade a trial account to a “real” account, but the 14 days trial period has ended, you need to contact our support to be able to upgrade.

  1. Now choose the service you wish to upgrade to and click Choose product. As soon as we’ve received payment on the upgrade invoice, your service will be upgraded automatically.

Downgrade

If you wish to downgrade your web hosting account to a smaller one, this is done via our Client area.

To downgrade your web hosting account, begin by logging on to the Client area, then follow these steps:

  1. Click Shared Hosting under Services in the menu to the left.
  2. Then click View to the right of the service you wish to downgrade.

  3. Towards the top of the page, you’ll see a few tabs, click the one labelled Management actions and then Downgrade.

  4. On the following page, enter what service you wish to downgrade to. Also, select if you want to downgrade Immediately or at the End of billing period.

  5. Check the entered information and click Request downgrade once you’re done.

When you submit your downgrade request, an automatic email will be sent to you. This email will say that a cancellation request has been submitted – please ignore this part.
