Why should I not forward my emails to my gmail?

You should not forward your email from the email address(es) you have here with us to your gmail address because if someone sends you spam it will also be forwarded to gmail. From Google’s side, it looks like we are sending spam to their servers and they will therefore block our IP addresses.

What you should do instead is use a feature that Google calls Check mail from other accounts. You can use this Google support article to set up the feature on your Google account. Select the instructions on how to set up an account under Step 2: Add another email account and follow them. Use the following settings when setting up the account:

  • Username is your email address.
  • Password is the one you chose when the email account was created. If you’ve lost the password, you can set a new one according to these instructions.
  • POP server can be found via this guide.
  • Port should be set to 995.
  • Select “Leave a copy of the retrieved message on the server”.
  • Select “Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail”.

Google will thereafter fetch emails directly into gmail from the email account you have with us.

Please note that Google decides how often Gmail should check your email account with us for new mail. It can therefore sometimes take a long time from the time a message arrives with us until Google downloads it to Gmail.
