Sometimes you want to remove an email account from a web hosting account, for example if you no longer intend to use the account. There are two ways to delete an email account, via the Client Area and via cPanel, this guide describes both options.
Via the Client Area
To remove an email account from a web hosting account via the Client Area, proceed as follows:
- Begin by logging on to the Client Area of the client account where the web hosting account is located that you want to delete the email account from.
- Go to
E-mail & App Suite
underServices
in the menu on the left. - Locate the email account you want to delete in the list of existing email accounts, click the
...
button on the far right and selectRemove Account
from the menu. - In the notice that pops up, tick the box that you have read and understood that all data on the email account will be lost and then click the
Remove Account
button. - Your email account will now be deleted.
Via cPanel
To remove an email account from a web hosting account via cPanel, proceed as follows:
- Begin by logging on to cPanel.
- Click the icon
Email Accounts
under the categoryEmail
. - Locate the email account you want to delete in the table and click
Manage
. - Scroll down the page until you find the Delete email account section and click the
Delete Email Account
button. - In the yellow box that now appears, confirm the deletion by clicking the
Delete
button. - Your email account will now be deleted.
