How long does it take to transfer a domain to Oderland?

You can find information about how to transfer a domain to us here.

As soon as a domain transfer to us is done, we’ll send out an email information about this.

Transfer times for various domains vary depending on TLD (top-level domain).

When transferring a domain, we do not automatically change the domain’s nameservers. Current DNS records aren’t copied to our nameservers either.

If you want to be able to manage your DNS settings through us after the transfer, you will need to change to our nameservers. This can be done when the transfer is completed. For help on how to change the nameservers please follow our guide.

.se and .nu domains

Domains using these TLDs transfer to us immediatelly.

gTLDs (.com, .net, .org etc)

The generic top-level domains (gTLDs, those that are not connected to a specific country) generally requires 5-7 days to transfer. Since most of the gTLDs cost to transfer, the transfer will not commence until we’ve received payment for the transfer.

Usually, a gTLD is renewed with a year at transfer. Thusly, you do not “lose any money” doing a transfer.

Others

Other TLDs, e.g. .be, .de, .at and other ccTLD (i.e. country code top-level domains) all have different rules concerning transfer. If you have any questions regarding transfer of such domain, feel free to contact us.
