For each domain added to a web hosting account, there is a folder called the document root. The document root is the folder where all files and folders belonging to the domain (and consequently, its website) is located.
Since you can add an unlimited number of additional domains (and subdomains) on a web hosting account, it can easily become a bit messy if you’ve not had a specific structure from the very beginning. Follow these instructions to find where the document root for a certain website/domain/subdomain resides on the account:
- Begin by logging on to cPanel.
- Click the icon
DomainsunderDomains.
- A bit down on the page, you’ll find a table listing all domains and subdomains on your account. In the column
Document Rootyou will see the path for the domain’s/subdomain’s document root.
