New Relic is a tool that is user for monitoring web applications. Through it, you can get detailed information regarding performance, visitors and so on for a website and the like.
To use New Relic on a site with us, you need a license key from New Relic. You can get one from their website. If you need help getting a license key, please contact New Relic’s support.
Once you have a license key, you can activate New Relic on your web hosting account via these instructions:
- Begin by logging in to cPanel.
- Click
Select PHP versionunderSoftware.
- Scroll down the page and tick the checkbox next to the PHP module for
newrelic.
- Scroll up to the top again and switch to the
Optionstab.
- Scroll down until you find the options with names starting with
newrelicand edit the settings to your taste.
newrelic.appname: The name that will be visible on the New Relic website.
newrelic.license: The license key you got from New Relic. If you don’t have one, you can get it via New Relic’s website. The license on the picture above is just an example.
newrelic.logfile: Where the log file created on our server should be stored, and what name it should have. In this example, the log will be saved under the/tmpfolder and be namednewrelic.log.
newrelic.loglevel: How much information that should be saved in the log on our server. The more data you save, the larger the file will become.
Once you have entered the information on cPanel, you should soon see data being collected on New Relic’s website, becoming available in their GUI.
