How do I turn off a server in Oderland Cloud?

There may be several reasons why you want to shut down your server in Oderland Cloud, for example if you do not intend to use it for a while. To shut down a server, follow the instructions below.

  1. Begin by logging on to the Oderland Cloud control panel.
  2. When you’ve logged in, go to Compute (the cube-like icon) -> Virtual machines in the menu to the left.
  3. Click on the row for the server you want to turn off and then click the Shut down button.
  4. A box will now pop up where you need to confirm the shutdown by clicking the Shut down button.

If you select Shelve virtual machine here, you will not be charged for allocated CPU cores or RAM. Use this option if you plan to leave the server shut down for an extended period of time.

Normally, a shutdown takes a few seconds, but sometimes it can take longer than that.

If you want to delete your server after shutting it down, you can read about how to do so here.
