How do I manage users for Object Storage in Oderland Cloud?

To be able to use Object Storage in Oderland Cloud, you need to add (at least) one user for this. If you no longer intend to use a certain user in Object Storage, you can also remove it. This guide describes how to do both.

Create Object Storage users

Please note that you cannot use an Object Storage user to manage servers etc set up via Oderland Cloud, only buckets for object storage.

To add a new user for Object Storage, do the following:

1. Begin by logging on to the Client Area.
2. Click Cloud under Services in the menu to the left.
   
3. Then click Object Storage in the menu towards the top.
   
4. If you do not have any users created previously, click on the big red + Add user button.
   If you have users already created and want to add another one, click + Add Object Storage User in the top menu.
5. In the box that pops up, confirm that you want to add a user by clicking Confirm.
6. Your user is now created and can be used to manage buckets.

Remove Object Storage users

Note that you cannot delete an Object Storage user if there are buckets associated with it. You must therefore delete all buckets before you can remove the user.

To remove an Object Storage user, follow these steps:

1. Begin by logging on to the Client Area.
2. Click Cloud under Services in the menu to the left.
   
3. Then click Object Storage in the menu towards the top.
   
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you find the User section. Here you can click the Remove User button to delete the user.
5. In the box that pops up, tick the box that you confirm the deletion of the user and then click the Confirm button.
6. The user is now removed.
