How do I manage buckets in Object Storage via Oderland Cloud?

The storage in Object Storage in Oderland Cloud is managed in so-called buckets. A bucket is a storage area for files and folders. This guide shows you how to add and delete these buckets.

Create buckets

To be able to add buckets, you must have set up at least one Object Storage user. For information on how to do that, read these instructions.

To add a bucket in Oderland Cloud, follow these steps:

  1. Begin by logging on to the Client Area.
  2. Click Cloud under Services in the menu to the left.
  3. Then click Object Storage in the menu towards the top.
  4. If you don’t have any buckets already, click on the big red + Add Bucket button.
    If you already have buckets, scroll down the page until you find the + Add Bucket button below the list of existing buckets.
  5. In the box that pops up, enter a name for your bucket and click the Confirm button.
  6. Your bucket is now created and ready for use.

Remove buckets

Keep in mind that you must empty a bucket before it can be removed. Don’t forget to save all the data you need to keep before you start deleting the data.

To remove a bucket from Oderland Cloud, proceed as follows:

  1. Begin by logging on to the Client Area.
  2. Click Cloud under Services in the menu to the left.
  3. Then click Object Storage in the menu towards the top.
  4. In the list under the Buckets section, locate the bucket you wish to remove and click the trash can icon to the right of the bucket.
  5. In the box that pops up, tick the box to confirm that you wish to remove the bucket, and click the Confirm button.
  6. Your bucket will now be deleted.
