Please keep in mind that you only can change nameservers via us for domains registered through us. If you’re unsure about where you’ve registered your domain, follow these instructions<\/a> to find out. If the domain isn’t registered via us, contact the correct registrar for help and instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name servers for a domain tells the rest of the Internet where to find information regarding towards what servers a domain is pointing. Sometimes you need to edit the name servers, e.g.<\/em> if you’ve changed service provider or wish to use a specific feature from a service. This guide will tell you how to edit the name servers being used by a domain registered via us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some country code top-level domains (ccTLDs), such as .de require that DNS records for the domain already exist before a nameserver change is possible. If you have not set up DNS records in the new nameservers, a change to them will not be possible. This means that if you want to change to our nameservers<\/a>, you have to add the domain<\/a> to a web hosting account first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certain ccTLDs, such as .dk, may have other routines for nameserver changes than the ones described below. For the mentioned .dk, you have to log on at Punktum dk<\/a> to make updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that a nameserver change may take up to 48 hours to propagate over the entire Internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Begin by logging on to our Client Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click Domains<\/code> under Services<\/code> in the menu to the left.

  3. You now reach the management page for domains registered with us. Click on All Domains<\/code> at the top to see all your domain names.

  4. Click View<\/code> to the right on the line concerning the domain for which you wish to change the nameservers.

  5. At the top of the page you now land on you’ll see a couple of tabs, click on the one saying Nameservers<\/code>.

  6. Here you may edit the nameservers. If you want to use our nameservers (dns1.oderland.com, dns2.oderland.com and dns3.oderland.com), select Oderland Nameservers<\/code>. If you wish to use nameservers from some other provider, select Custom Nameservers<\/code> and enter them in the fields.

    Click the Update Nameservers<\/code> button once you’re done.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
