{"id":24075,"date":"2025-02-21T08:33:11","date_gmt":"2025-02-21T07:33:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oderland.se\/support\/artikel\/vilka-portar-ar-oppna-pa-mitt-webbhotellkonto\/"},"modified":"2025-02-24T10:22:21","modified_gmt":"2025-02-24T09:22:21","slug":"which-ports-are-open-on-my-web-hosting-account","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.oderland.se\/support\/en\/artikel\/which-ports-are-open-on-my-web-hosting-account\/","title":{"rendered":"Which ports are open on my web hosting account?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-danger\">If you want any of the ports that are open by default to be closed or access to them to be restricted to certain IP addresses, you must have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oderland.com\/managed-server\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Managed Server<\/a>.<br><br>We do not have the possibility to close any ports for certain clients on shared servers (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oderland.com\/web-hosting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">web hosting account<\/a> servers and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oderland.com\/solutions\/agency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Agency Standard<\/a> servers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">If you have a server set up in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oderland.com\/cloud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oderland Cloud<\/a>, you control which ports are open or closed via the firewall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a server to work and for services on it to be used, a number of so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Port_(computer_networking)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">network ports<\/a> must be open on it. These can be ports for e-mail management (incoming and outgoing mail), FTP for file transfers and SSH for more advanced functions. For servers running cPanel, a number of ports specific to that platform must also be available for the control panel to be accessible and usable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below we list a selection of the ports that are open for traffic on our servers.
