If you have forgotten the password to your e-mail account or for some other reason want to change it, you can do this in three different ways; either through the Client Area, cPanel or via the webmail. If you change via the Client Area or cPanel, the advantage is that you do not need to have the current password for the e-mail account in order to set a new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avoid the following characters in your password, as they may cause problems with certain email clients and\/or webmail clients:
\u00c5 \u00c4 \u00d6 \u00e5 \u00e4 \u00f6 \u00a4 \u00bd \u00a7 \u00a3 \u20ac \u00a8 ; & @<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Via the Client area<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You can change the password for all email accounts stored on web hosting accounts under your client account via the Client Area. To change a password, follow these instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Begin by logging on to the Client Area<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click E-mail & App Suite<\/code> under Services<\/code> in the menu to the left.

  3. Scroll down until you see the table with all your email accounts and find the email address you want to change the password for (you can use the search box above the table if you have many email accounts). Then click on the three dots to the right of the email account and click Change Password<\/code>.

  4. Now enter the new password twice and then click Change Password<\/code>. Remember to choose a strong password.

    Via cPanel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    You can change the password for all email accounts on a web hosting account via cPanel. To do so, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Begin by logging on to cPanel<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Click Email Accounts<\/code> under the section Email<\/code>.

    3. Click Manage<\/code> to the right of the email account you want to change the password for.

    4. You can either enter your own new password in the field provided, or<\/strong> let cPanel generate a random password using the Generate<\/code> button. Be sure to choose a strong password. You want the password strength meter to be completely full.

    5. Finaly, click Update Email Settings<\/code> near the bottom of the page once you’re done.

      Via the webmail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      If you know the current password of the email account but want to change it anyway, you can log in to the webmail for that particular account and do it there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Please note that you cannot change your email password via App Suite, you need to use cPanel’s webmail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Log in to the webmail via yourdomain.se\/webmail<\/code>. Replace “yourdomain.se” with what follows the @ in your email address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Once you have logged in to the webmail, you need to click your email address in the top right corner. Then click on Password & Security<\/code> in the menu.
