There are several reasons for wanting to have several different IP addresses on a server, such as SEO (search engine optimisation), wanting different IP addresses for different sites/services, etc. This guide shows you how to add additional IP addresses to a server in Oderland Cloud.
- Begin by logging on to the Oderland Cloud control panel.
- When you’ve logged in, go to
Compute
(the cube-like icon) ->Virtual machines
in the menu to the left. - Click the row for the server you want to add an IP address to. Then click the
Edit
button to the right ofNetwork interfaces
. You may have to scroll down a bit to find Network Interfaces. - If you want to add a new IP address within the same network you already have, you can now edit the existing network interface. If you instead want to add an IP address within another network, you need to create a new network interface first. Below we describe both ways:
New IP address on the same network
- To add an IP address within the same network, click
...
to the right of the existing network interface and then clickEdit
in the menu that appears. - Then click the

button to add additional IP addresses. You can add several at once if you wish. Don’t forget to click theSave
button when you’re done. - Click the
Done
button at the bottom to save the changes to the network interface.
New IP address on another network
- If you want to add an IP address within another network, click the
Add
button. - Select the network you want to use by clicking on

, the network you want an IP number in and then theAdd
button. - You can now choose whether you want the new network interface to have an IPv4 and/or IPv6 address. If you don’t want either, click on the bin to the right of the respective IP address type. Then click the
Add
button when you are done. - Finally, click the
Done
button at the bottom to save the new network interface.
