If you have a web hosting account or an Agency service with us, we will not whitelist IP addresses belonging to Detectify.
Historically, we’ve seen that if Detectify’s IP addresses are whitelisted and theie tests are run, this basically results in a DoS attack towards the server resulting in severe performance issues. In a shared hosting environment, this will affect far more clients than just the one asking for the whitelisting. Therefore, we will not whitelist IP addresses belonging to Detectify or similar services.
If you have a VPS set up via Oderland Cloud you have full control over the firewall and its rules. In this case, you therefore can manage black- and whitelisting of IP addresses as you wish.
On a Managed Server we can whitelist Detectify, but since the service can cause performance issues on the server, server monitoring must be disabled when Detectify shall be used.
Our general recommendation is that Detectify is only used on development sites, not on live sites.
